English bulldogs are a lovable animal, so much so that once you own one bulldog, you’ll become a “bulldog person!” We find that the customers who buy bulldogs from us often become bulldog lovers for life, and continue to own them for years to come.

The English bulldog is mostly an indoor pet that likes to be outdoors for short periods of time. This breed does best in temperate climates because they’re sensitive to heat. You’ll mostly find this doggy lounging around the house—general activity level is low. This dog isn’t a big barker and is fairly easy to take care of, as long as you’re aware of the particular illnesses that affect bulldogs more than other breeds.

English bulldog Facts:

  • They are medium sized dogs that stand close to the ground.
  • Full height is 12-14 inches, and they can grow to be 40-55 pounds.
  • Life span is 8-10 years, and a normal litter is 4 puppies.
  • Normal coat is smooth and hair is short. Their hair comes in different colors, but the body is usually one color: red, red brindle, piebald or occasionally black.
  • Their general look is stout, with wide shoulders and a broad, large head. Their faces are short, with wrinkles and black noses. They’re a heavy looking dog and appear very strong and powerful. Perfect for guarding the house.

As they have a mean look to them, English bulldogs are perfect guard dogs to keep away bad guys; however, they are not prone to actually attack.

The personality of most English bulldogs is very docile. They love being around their owners and cuddling—they are very affectionate dogs. Perfect for families with children, and bulldogs will usually get along with other pets. These dogs are a great companion for someone who wants a low-key pet.

English bulldogs are loyal to their family and are the best companions you’ll ever have. They love being lazy around the house, and can occasionally be stubborn. They’re trainable and like pleasing their master, as long as the tricks aren’t too hard. If you do your research before buying an English bulldog, you’ll surely be satisfied with your new friend.
